How arts and craft saved me from burnout

Image sourced via: www.pixabay.com I used to write and publish novels and I was a freelance business writer, I also had an online magazine not to mention bringing up two young kids as well as a part time job. Any spare time I had I would write. Burn out is real.  Burn out happened to me. It was really hard. My computer crashed and I thought may be it’s time to just stop my writing. So I did.  I took six years off writing and started working full time again but no additional work such as the writing.  I spent those six years just looking after myself. Exploring my inner being and using self-care techniques to really just relax.  That is when my arts and craft hobbies lifestyle began. I would just spend the weekend on my hobbies, it started with the super cute miniature homes. Then I added paint by numbers. Then only a year ago did I discover the joy of diamond painting. And until recently, probably the start of the year I fell in love with scrapbooking.  I...

The relaxation of diamond painting

Diamond painting oozes excitement to see a finished diamond product as well as provides that utter relaxation that we all strive for.  I love diamond painting because even if I only have thirty minutes, I can completely relax with it.  Relaxation is so important in our day to day lives and if you can spare thirty minutes a week, you will start to enjoy the rhythm and fun of diamond painting.  I do the most of diamond painting on weekends and can spend between one to three hours at a time on a diamond painting.  And seeing the end result is just dazzling. What was your first diamond painting? Please add to the comments below. Mine was a landscape of a sunrise over the water.  For more of my videos on diamond painting, please subscribe to my YouTube channel at littlemissmel23.  #diamondpainting #relaxwithart #artsandcraft

Why I love arts and craft

Image source via: pixabay.com  Arts and craft is a renewal process. You have to focus, which eliminates the brain being distracted. Focusing on a craft such as miniature houses or LEGO or building something gets your brain working. The challenge is the art and that aim for perfection and an outcome of the art and craft that makes you smile and feel proud of yourself for conquering such a quest.   Whereas diamond painting, is complete relaxation. I can either put on music or a movie while I diamond paint or I can diamond paint in silence and explore the day’s events through my mind.  Scrapbooking brings out my joy of no rules to crafting. I can be so creative and flexible and do what I am in the mood for to really bring out my soul to play.  With paint by numbers I feel like I am an artist. If you ever wanted to feel like an artist, get a paint by numbers kit. It’s also relaxing and the outcome is liberating. What is arts and craft to you? Please add to the com...
