Scrapbooking a pink background theme

^Please note this post includes AliExpress.com affiliate links. This means if you purchase something from a link in my post, I will receive a percentage from the sale from the seller.

Ok so let’s be real. This post was going to be a pink theme but once I started to add the pink stickers they started to camouflage with the pink background. Unsure what I mean, when you look at my photos, look for the pink swan. Can’t find it? That’s because it’s camouflaged into the pink background.

So let’s go with the pink background theme instead.

So what are we doing?

Today I am doing a scrapbook page in my A4 art book. This is a super fun way to be creative and test themes out for when you do the real scrapbooking in an album. It helps you get comfortable with the entire process.

When scrapbooking you don’t have to use themes, but if you are new to scrapbooking it just makes it easier to decorate when you have a theme in mind. Also for themes, you need to see if you have the supplies needed for a theme.

So let’s begin with a blank page:

Then select your pink papers that you want to use. Tip: Select more paper styles because normally you need more than what you think you need.

Now do some funky cut outs and glue on the page:

I have to say I am pretty impressed with my cut outs. Just remember though the design of the paper may get covered later on with stickers. But it’s still cool to play with. I feel like this looks good. A good starting point.

Now for the fun, add stickers. As I said above, I tried to add pink stickers but it just didn’t look as good. So I went with a range of pictures and stickers. Half way through I thought it doesn’t look good and this happens in scrapbooking. So just keep going because by the end of it I do like it.

Here I have added stickers (but it’s not the last step so keep reading to see what else I add):

Did you see the swan?

Now I got a bit excited and thought why not add some decorations as well? See, I told you I wasn’t finished. I think decorations really add a bit of flair. I used tape to hold them on the page.

So I added a pink feather, some different coloured roses in different spots and a cute little pale pink beanie. And that’s the finished product. So did it inspire you to create your own scrapbooking art book?

I honestly feel satisfied and enjoyed the end result. I really thought I was going to stop after I added the pink stickers. But the great part about scrapbooking is, you can always change your design part way through and no one will know you had a different design thought process at the beginning to what it looks like at the end.

So if you would like to know where I got these scrapbooking supplies I have included the links below from AliExpress.com. As mentioned at the start of the post, I am an affiliate of AliExpress.com but that’s because I really do shop there for a lot of my hobby needs. They have such a vast range to browse through.

Some of the links aren’t exactly what I have pictured above but they are close to what I purchased.

How I use my home for craft

So my home is decorated by my craft.  For example, I have a craft room where I store my craft supplies and have space to do my craft and then I have in my lounge room showing my craft creations (pictured above) and also storing craft supplies like yarn, where I love to look at and think about the possibilities of what I can do with my craft supplies.  It makes me feel good to come home and be surrounded by my craft.  And it’s ok to never have your craft room finished. For me it’s a work in progress. I am always changing it and my supplies and where to showcase my supplies. This is because my interests change. One month I may be heavily into crocheting so I don’t need a table for that, I can just sit on the couch. I really just need storage for my yarn and crochet needles and my half completed crochet projects such as draws to cater for these.  Another month, I may be into scrapbooking so I do need a table for this, my set of draws for the stickers and tapes and then ...

Crocheting my first blanket

So I decided that crocheting animals etc is pretty stressful. Not really stressful but not relaxing. A cool end result but I wanted to find something to crochet where I didn’t have to count the stitches or focus on the different type of stitches. So I decided to crochet a simple blanket.  I just wanted to use a small amount of stitches and not count them. I didn’t want to do anything fancy. But I still wanted to crochet. I believe if I could find something to stitch that I could just relax doing than it was worth it. I started googling a simply blanket planet using single crochet stitch. And I found one. It’s simple start off with the first row with a chain stitch and then turn it over and do the rest with a single crochet stitch. Brilliant. So I started crocheting a baby blanket. It didn’t work out. The sides were uneven and the blanket was all different lengths. So I googled and realised after I do a row of single crochet stitches, I have to do one chain stitch at the end before ...
