Blogs, what are they?

Blogs are cool, personal experience adventures that are written about a particular topic. In this case, my blog is about hobbies. 

Sometimes I write about personal experiences relating to hobbies and sometimes I write interesting information that I have researched about the hobby. 

Why promote on a hobbies blog? 

When I write a blog, my written voice builds trust with the reader. So I have a trusted audience that likes what I write and might learn something new from it. 

Promoting your business, service or product on a blog means it reaches a wider, targeted audience of the topic you seek. My blog in particular has a new post every week day and I promote this on various social media platforms on a regular basis. 

So your business will receive a higher view of traffic the more views I get on my blog. 

If I am an author can I promote my book on your blog? 

Yes, reading is a hobby in my eyes and I do blog about reading and writing, so it’s only fitting that books be promoted on my blog, again to reach a wider audience. 

Is a blog post on my business, product or service a good idea? 

Yes! You can write a blog post for me to post on my blog for a few that you can then promote heavily on your platforms and I will promote on mine to gain as many views as possible and so viewers may learn more about your business and what it offers. 

I always think telling the story of the business is a good way to get readers to understand what your business offers and get connected with your business. 

What happens if I put my banner on a blog? 

A banner on a blog is just like posting an advert in a newspaper or placing a banner on a sports field. All vary in prices. A blog banner is where you aim to reach the online viewers. Added, with a clickable link direct to your website and viewers can go straight to your website to find out more information. 

What if I want someone to review my product? 

Too easy. I love promoting awesome products. If you have a cool product and you want a review on my blog, which you can share on your social media platforms, you can get one! I will be absolutely honest in the review and I will mention it’s a paid review (which is a legal requirement). I have reviewed books and fashion accessories in the past and open to reviewing more products. I would appreciate it is a hobby review, because that aligns with my blog. 

How long do blogs promote other businesses for? 

In my promotions page, I let you know how long I promote banners etc for. It does depend on what package you use and you can purchase the promotional package more than once.

How I use my home for craft

Crocheting my first blanket

So I decided that crocheting animals etc is pretty stressful. Not really stressful but not relaxing. A cool end result but I wanted to find something to crochet where I didn’t have to count the stitches or focus on the different type of stitches. So I decided to crochet a simple blanket.  I just wanted to use a small amount of stitches and not count them. I didn’t want to do anything fancy. But I still wanted to crochet. I believe if I could find something to stitch that I could just relax doing than it was worth it. I started googling a simply blanket planet using single crochet stitch. And I found one. It’s simple start off with the first row with a chain stitch and then turn it over and do the rest with a single crochet stitch. Brilliant. So I started crocheting a baby blanket. It didn’t work out. I crocheted my first scarf

  If you are a subscriber to my hobbies YouTube channel @littlemissmel23, last week I posted a video on how to crochet a scarf. I couldn’t show the end result because it was already a long video, so I decided to show you on my blog. I have added the video to this blog post if you are interested in watching it for the pattern.  The final result: The final result is quite good I feel. I did a thin scarf and I ran out of pink yarn so I decided to add white. I’m quite proud of this scarf. I am going to play with the sizing and in particular the width of the scarf.  Now my kids have seen the first scarf, they are wanting me to make them one as well. They even chose the coloured yarn they want. One wants black and then white like my pink and white one pictured. And my other son wants a combination of blue white yarn.  As per the video, I plan to crochet 5-7 scarves for myself so I can wear one each day and change the scarf colour pending the outfit.  Scarf crocheting ...
