The Winnie the Pooh scrapbooking theme breakdown

So most weeks, on this blog I will show you how I create a scrapbook page. I find it fun and I hope it inspires you to create your own scrapbooking page.

What I use is an A4 art book, so the pages are thicker than an exercise book. This is just easier so I don’t rip the paper. Also I show you a full A4 page where your actual scrapbooking album maybe a different size and shape and also when you add photos, you don’t need to add so much backdrops and stickers.

Let’s begin with today’s theme: Winnie the Pooh. I normally start with choosing the paper first but this time I started with the stickers. Then I chose the paper and I had to find my special Winnie the Pooh washi tape. This is what I chose:

I decided the cool bright paper would go well with Winnie the Pooh stickers. So I decided to make the coloured paper more attractive, I would creative some different cut outs. As per the image below:

But after gluing the bright paper down, I thought what if I add a flower picture to the bottom left? And then I added some colourful leaves to the side left and then I just kept adding to the page, finding flower type scrapbooking paper. I have to say, I just went with it and it felt like the right choice to add all this extra cut outs.

And now for the extra fun part of scrapbooking! I added the stickers! I love stickers, they are so much fun! What I was a little disappointed was I couldn’t find Rabbit in my sticker stash, but I have used some of these Winnie the Pooh stickers before so maybe I already used up all of the Rabbit stickers. Noting there would be less Rabbit stickers compared to Winnie the Pooh stickers. So that makes sense. Also, when I was cleaning all this up after, I found another pack of Winnie the Pooh stickers. I buy the 50 packs so they tend to last longer and for quite a few scrapbooking projects.

Just remember when placing stickers, the one in the middle is where everyone looks first, so choose your favourite for the middle page sticker. I originally started with the top middle Winnie the Pooh sticker where I was going to place it in the middle of the page but at the last minute I thought it looked better at the top.

Just remember when you place a sticker down, you can’t move it after the fact so choose where you want to put it before sticking it down.

And for the final step, I added washi tape and of course I had to use my Winnie the Pooh washi tape, which I used for the top and bottom of the page. It’s hard to see in the picture but in real life you can tell it’s Winnie the Pooh washi tape. I then added the flower washi tape to the left and right edges, and it’s just makes the artwork more framed when using washi tape.

So did you enjoy reading the fun I had? You can have the same fun by doing something similar and tailoring it to your sized album and piccies!

How I use my home for craft

So my home is decorated by my craft.  For example, I have a craft room where I store my craft supplies and have space to do my craft and then I have in my lounge room showing my craft creations (pictured above) and also storing craft supplies like yarn, where I love to look at and think about the possibilities of what I can do with my craft supplies.  It makes me feel good to come home and be surrounded by my craft.  And it’s ok to never have your craft room finished. For me it’s a work in progress. I am always changing it and my supplies and where to showcase my supplies. This is because my interests change. One month I may be heavily into crocheting so I don’t need a table for that, I can just sit on the couch. I really just need storage for my yarn and crochet needles and my half completed crochet projects such as draws to cater for these.  Another month, I may be into scrapbooking so I do need a table for this, my set of draws for the stickers and tapes and then ...

Crocheting my first blanket

So I decided that crocheting animals etc is pretty stressful. Not really stressful but not relaxing. A cool end result but I wanted to find something to crochet where I didn’t have to count the stitches or focus on the different type of stitches. So I decided to crochet a simple blanket.  I just wanted to use a small amount of stitches and not count them. I didn’t want to do anything fancy. But I still wanted to crochet. I believe if I could find something to stitch that I could just relax doing than it was worth it. I started googling a simply blanket planet using single crochet stitch. And I found one. It’s simple start off with the first row with a chain stitch and then turn it over and do the rest with a single crochet stitch. Brilliant. So I started crocheting a baby blanket. It didn’t work out. The sides were uneven and the blanket was all different lengths. So I googled and realised after I do a row of single crochet stitches, I have to do one chain stitch at the end before ...
