Why you should promote on a blog

Welcome to my Hobbies blog, where I write about crocheting, scrapbooking, diamond painting, writing and reading... sometimes other hobbies as well, but these are the main 5 hobbies I write about. What is cool about a blog is that it is ever growing. For example, for a year I had about the same amount of views each week. Then I created this whole new strategy and I have doubled the views to my hobbies blog in a month. It feels amazing and I know over time, the views on my blog will grow even bigger.

I obviously have great plans and strategy for growing my hobbies blog. The best part is, as long as I have a blog, the posts will be published. This means, viewers can visit and read old blog posts.

What does this mean?

If you advertise on my hobbies blog, you will have a long time of advertising because the blog will be relevant for many years to come.

What can you promote on my blog:

  • As a business you can promote your business as a whole, or promote in particular a product or service that you would like to promote.
  • Plus, you don't even have to have a business to promote on my hobbies blog. For example, if you would like to promote your book - then my readers will love to read it.
  • In addition, if you have a hobby product you would like me to review, then that is also welcome.

Here are some reasons why promoting on a blog is worth your while:

The audience you seek read blogs

Hobbyists love to find hobby blogs where they can read about their hobbies and the real results of doing those hobbies. I love hobbies but I barely have anyone to talk to about them. So reading as much as you can on the topic, helps and helps people learn more about their hobby.

The audience follows the voice they trust

I used to be a freelance business writer and write each week an article on a business's website. What this meant, was each week the reader would read my content but also learn to trust my written voice. A voice they trust will help them go with that particular company, rather than a business that just has a website and no articles, creating no stories or reasons for that customer to buy from them.

It's the same with my hobbies blog. I use my written voice for readers to trust me. In addition to being honest and sharing my wins and fails. So if I promote a product, they will trust me with this that it will work for them.

Regular blog posts

I used to write weekly blog posts but then I realised the audience wants more regular posts, so now I post every weekday. In addition, to pumping out information on hobbies. My blog will be promoted for free on the first page of google results and stays there because the blog is constantly getting updated, producing new search results.

How I use my home for craft

So my home is decorated by my craft.  For example, I have a craft room where I store my craft supplies and have space to do my craft and then I have in my lounge room showing my craft creations (pictured above) and also storing craft supplies like yarn, where I love to look at and think about the possibilities of what I can do with my craft supplies.  It makes me feel good to come home and be surrounded by my craft.  And it’s ok to never have your craft room finished. For me it’s a work in progress. I am always changing it and my supplies and where to showcase my supplies. This is because my interests change. One month I may be heavily into crocheting so I don’t need a table for that, I can just sit on the couch. I really just need storage for my yarn and crochet needles and my half completed crochet projects such as draws to cater for these.  Another month, I may be into scrapbooking so I do need a table for this, my set of draws for the stickers and tapes and then ...

Crocheting my first blanket

So I decided that crocheting animals etc is pretty stressful. Not really stressful but not relaxing. A cool end result but I wanted to find something to crochet where I didn’t have to count the stitches or focus on the different type of stitches. So I decided to crochet a simple blanket.  I just wanted to use a small amount of stitches and not count them. I didn’t want to do anything fancy. But I still wanted to crochet. I believe if I could find something to stitch that I could just relax doing than it was worth it. I started googling a simply blanket planet using single crochet stitch. And I found one. It’s simple start off with the first row with a chain stitch and then turn it over and do the rest with a single crochet stitch. Brilliant. So I started crocheting a baby blanket. It didn’t work out. The sides were uneven and the blanket was all different lengths. So I googled and realised after I do a row of single crochet stitches, I have to do one chain stitch at the end before ...
