Step by step instructions to scrapbooking a Christmas theme

Whether you love to create scrapbooking themes in your photo album or just want to scrapbook a page to feel creative, today I am showing you how to scrapbook a Christmas theme.

I am going to use an A4 art book, so the pages are a bit thicker than a normal exercise book. You can use the same scrapbooking resources and then add photos to the top of the scrapbooking at the end if you like.

Let’s start with the resources. For those in Australia, I bought this last year and hadn’t opened it till now. It’s from Kmart and I looked this year and they are selling a similar or same one again.

The pack comes with thick card paper sheets, some paper cut outs and stickers. I have a photo of some Christmas washi tape below that I believe I also bought from Kmart last year.

Now go get your glue stick, scissors and anything else you may want to include. I wanted to use this scrapbooking craft pack I bought but I do have a tonne more Christmas stickers but decided not to use them for today’s adventure.

Ok cut up your chosen Christmas scrapbooking paper (you can even use Christmas wrapping paper as the background.)

Then glue it to the page.

Now normally I don’t add washi tape to the picture until the very end. As I like to frame the picture with washi tape. This time though I decided to add the washi tape next. I don’t also use more than four lengths of washi tape but today, I tried something different and added a few lengths of washi tape to the middle / top part of the page.

Next I added some medium sized paper cut outs of Christmas designs and glued them to the page.
I really liked Santa in the bottom corner and also added a paper cut frame around him to sort of make him the focus. I thought maybe I should add something to the bottom left but I thought the reindeer was the focus in that space so decided against it.

I then added some stickers. You may or may not be able to see the gold sparkly Merry Christmas letter stickers.
Letter stickers are a bit harder because I had to focus on them being in line with each other. Whereas the other Christmas stickers, I just plonked down, in different angles.
Stickers are fun to use. I love stickers.

Below is the final end product!

See it’s not hard to scrapbook, it’s just some of us feel we have to place things in the most perfect spot or it’s ruined. Try to have a relaxed approach with scrapbooking and just be creative.

How I use my home for craft

So my home is decorated by my craft.  For example, I have a craft room where I store my craft supplies and have space to do my craft and then I have in my lounge room showing my craft creations (pictured above) and also storing craft supplies like yarn, where I love to look at and think about the possibilities of what I can do with my craft supplies.  It makes me feel good to come home and be surrounded by my craft.  And it’s ok to never have your craft room finished. For me it’s a work in progress. I am always changing it and my supplies and where to showcase my supplies. This is because my interests change. One month I may be heavily into crocheting so I don’t need a table for that, I can just sit on the couch. I really just need storage for my yarn and crochet needles and my half completed crochet projects such as draws to cater for these.  Another month, I may be into scrapbooking so I do need a table for this, my set of draws for the stickers and tapes and then ...

Crocheting my first blanket

So I decided that crocheting animals etc is pretty stressful. Not really stressful but not relaxing. A cool end result but I wanted to find something to crochet where I didn’t have to count the stitches or focus on the different type of stitches. So I decided to crochet a simple blanket.  I just wanted to use a small amount of stitches and not count them. I didn’t want to do anything fancy. But I still wanted to crochet. I believe if I could find something to stitch that I could just relax doing than it was worth it. I started googling a simply blanket planet using single crochet stitch. And I found one. It’s simple start off with the first row with a chain stitch and then turn it over and do the rest with a single crochet stitch. Brilliant. So I started crocheting a baby blanket. It didn’t work out. The sides were uneven and the blanket was all different lengths. So I googled and realised after I do a row of single crochet stitches, I have to do one chain stitch at the end before ...
