How much crocheting can you get done in 30 minutes?

For an intermediate crocheter, how much can you get done in 30 minutes of crocheting?

Well, I am an intermediate crocheter and it takes me all the same speed to create anything, so let's look into what I can do and you can do, in 30 minutes.

For an adult sized blanket, doing one stitch. Check out my two stitches adult blanket pattern here. I can do one complete row, doing one stitch, in 30 minutes. An adult sized blanket, is fun and also if you don't count stitches like me, it's actually relaxing. Plus, if you gift them, people love them and want more. So it's a great project to have on the side, when you relax at night and watch TV you can also be crocheting your blanket. It can take me months to complete a crochet blanket.

For an adult scarf, I can complete two rows, using two stitches in 30 minutes. It's a similar pattern to the blanket, here is a blog post on how to make a scarf, with a video. Scarves just don't seem as fun for me. They still take a week or two to complete. Plus, in Australia it is cold for like 2 weeks and then you no longer need a scarf. So, there isn't much point in my eyes to make scarves. But it does depend on the weather where you live!

For a no sew amigurumi crochet pattern, which I have never tried before, I can do an entire no-sew crochet project in 30 minutes. I have only ever made 2 different types of no-sew crochet projects that took 30 minutes. They normally take me a few hours. But when you are starting out in crocheting amigurumi. It is best to start with a no sew pattern. This gets you used to the stitches and helps you feel good for making something pretty quickly. Plus learning to sew, takes time and practice.

For a sewing amigurumi crochet pattern, I can do one large body part, either the head or body in 30 minutes. If it is a medium sized object.

There are even smaller projects, which I could crochet about 5 bookmarks in 30 minutes or less. Crocheting bookmarks are so much fun and they literally don't take long to make. Plus, you can make them all in different colours! Plus, they make great gifts.

So yes you can crochet a lot, in some cases an entire crochet project in 30 minutes or less. I'm sure if you even crocheted beanies and hats and gloves, they may even be 30 - 60 minutes. The world when it comes to crocheting is limitless, I feel. Bascially you can create everything and anything and then crochet it using different colours. I always have projects ready to start but not enough time to do hundreds of them at once. I can seriously look online for patterns, paid or free, for hours, because they are all so cute!

Reshuffling my craft space for scrapbooking

When you feel uninspired change up your craft space  So I haven’t been scrapbooking as much because I have a set of drawers with stickers, washi tape and other cool stationery and then I have my tub of scrapbooking paper in my cupboard.  I was thinking about what I could do to bring my scrapbooking closer. Here’s a photo of my tub of scrapbooking paper. Look how undesirable it looks. Inside I have large paper about A4 size and A3. Then I have 12x12 inch paper. Plus an ice cream tub full of scrap paper.  It just made me feel unsatisfied and what makes me excited to work on a hobby is that I can see the resources and get excited to get started. But this set-up was not empowering me. I started brainstorming about maybe making a craft space. I found a table from IKEA with draws on both sides that I could put my scrapbooking paper and accessories in as well as my diamond painting. I also found a desk backing which is like a three level high shelving that attaches to the table....

Crocheting my first blanket and how you can to

Finding a relaxing crochet project for beginners So I decided that crocheting animals etc. is pretty stressful. Not really stressful but not relaxing. A cool end result but I wanted to find something to crochet where I didn’t have to count the stitches or focus on the different type of stitches. So I decided to crochet a simple blanket.  I just wanted to use a small amount of stitches and not count them. I didn’t want to do anything fancy. But I still wanted to crochet. I believe if I could find something to stitch that I could just relax doing it than it was worth it. I started googling a simply blanket planet using single crochet stitch. It’s simple start off with the first row with a chain stitch and then turn it over and do the rest with a single crochet stitch. Brilliant.  Why single crochet blankets don't work without a chain stitch So I started crocheting a baby blanket. It didn’t work out. The sides were uneven and the blanket was all different lengths. So I googled an...
