Scrapbooking fabric into a pink and white theme

I'm excited to showcase to you today the end result of scrapbooking with fabric!

I have a bag full of fabrics, lace, bits and bobs that I feel would be great to scrapbook with. Why not right?

Here's a picture of the inside of my fabric bag:

I decided to pull out some pieces that I thought would look great on my scrapbooking page. I always before I start scrapbooking, is pull out what I want to work with. I just feel it is easier, to choose what I want up front and then when placing it on the page, that is when I work out where it will fit. So as you can see in the image below, I decided to try these flowers. (The flowers I had up in my home but I am over the blue flowers, so decided to cut them up to just be a flower and no stalk and then re-use for my scrapbooking! I also found some coloured sequins. Pink flowers. Some blue fabric. Some pink fluffy fabric. White lace. A gorgeous gold lace and some cute miniature coloured buttons.

Below is the end result. I really wanted to use the pink fluffy fabric, so I placed it first down the bottom of the page and then I decided to add some white lace. For some reason, I just kept moving upwards on the page. Added some pink frilly lace. Then added the pink and white ribbon made flowers with some sparkle. To do all this by the way, I seriously just used glue paste. I thought I would have to use a glue gun, but seriously just glue past. I did find part way through, that it was easier to glue the paper and then stick down the item, rather than gluing the item. I added some clear sequins and then added some cream and pastel lace. See the result below:

The entire scrapbook page took about 10 minutes and that included being clumsy with the glue and then working it out, to glue the page, then place the item.

So it really shows a cute outcome that can be done in a short time! You don't have to spend hours scrapbooking. I really quite like working with fabric and the reason I had all this fabric and lace is because I used to design and create my very own miniature gowns. I would design the gown and then hand sew it all together. It was very cute. I used to create my own miniature homes, so I would add the gowns and hand-made heels to the fashion house!

So do look around your home to see what kind of hidden stashes of items you have, you can literally use anything when scrapbooking. You just have to think out of the box and wonder how can I use this and sometimes you won't know until you have it ready to paste into your scrapbook page.

Reshuffling my craft space for scrapbooking

When you feel uninspired change up your craft space  So I haven’t been scrapbooking as much because I have a set of drawers with stickers, washi tape and other cool stationery and then I have my tub of scrapbooking paper in my cupboard.  I was thinking about what I could do to bring my scrapbooking closer. Here’s a photo of my tub of scrapbooking paper. Look how undesirable it looks. Inside I have large paper about A4 size and A3. Then I have 12x12 inch paper. Plus an ice cream tub full of scrap paper.  It just made me feel unsatisfied and what makes me excited to work on a hobby is that I can see the resources and get excited to get started. But this set-up was not empowering me. I started brainstorming about maybe making a craft space. I found a table from IKEA with draws on both sides that I could put my scrapbooking paper and accessories in as well as my diamond painting. I also found a desk backing which is like a three level high shelving that attaches to the table....

Crocheting my first blanket and how you can to

Finding a relaxing crochet project for beginners So I decided that crocheting animals etc. is pretty stressful. Not really stressful but not relaxing. A cool end result but I wanted to find something to crochet where I didn’t have to count the stitches or focus on the different type of stitches. So I decided to crochet a simple blanket.  I just wanted to use a small amount of stitches and not count them. I didn’t want to do anything fancy. But I still wanted to crochet. I believe if I could find something to stitch that I could just relax doing it than it was worth it. I started googling a simply blanket planet using single crochet stitch. It’s simple start off with the first row with a chain stitch and then turn it over and do the rest with a single crochet stitch. Brilliant.  Why single crochet blankets don't work without a chain stitch So I started crocheting a baby blanket. It didn’t work out. The sides were uneven and the blanket was all different lengths. So I googled an...
