How to create an online course

For those who are in business or are wanting to start creating online courses, you will appreciate my latest online course, "How to create an online course."

You can literally create an online course about any topic or industry. You can even use this resource to create training courses for your staff to learn more about a topic. The person writing the course does need to be a subject matter expert in the topic you are creating the course on.

I did complete the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and also Train the trainer course.

I only create courses that I am a subject matter expert on and that of which I feel people are seeking some guidance in the area taught on.

That's why I created an online course for other businesses and individuals to learn what's acceptable, how it works, it doesn't have to always be all video content either. I am a writer, so I find writing and creating courses much easier in PDF format for individual's to print.

Why create online courses?

Self-growth is higher than ever. Every year, I choose 2-4 areas to self-develop in professionally and personally and I know I am not the only person out there who wants to self-grow.

What type of online courses can be created:

  • Think about what your business industry is in?
  • Then think about, what you consider to be general knowledge but actually your customers or even you staff don't know much about the topic?
  • Are you a subject matter expert about the topic?
  • Can you create a beginner's online course with your knowledge?

Why create activities in your online course?

Activities are so important. You don't just want to write the content for the individual to read and hope it absorbs in and the same for the video content. It is not ideal to just speak the knowledge. That isn't a course. That is information. You need to break down the format and include activities.

Activities are important because it helps the individual take your learned knowledge and put it into practice and imprint their minds with your knowledge.

Activities just simply help the individual to learn quicker and bring it into their world.

How to create an online course?

It's super simple. Pending if you want to write a course in word and then PDF it so individuals can print it out and use it as a workbook. Or you can create videos and use a word document to give the individual links to your content. Or there are online course formats available at online stores where the individual can pay for your course and then as they progress through it, the course gets a tick on each module once complete.

Just remember whatever you create a course; you make it fun and visually appealing.

So what are you waiting for? Up skill staff and/or individuals in your knowledge and sign up to "How to create an online course" today to seek assistance in creating your course.

Here is a review from Dr Nikki Jamieson of my online course, "How to create an online course:"

Great little resources especially for the beginners who don't really know where to start. Takes some of the hard work out of the initial thinking/scoping and helps to provide a basic plan to help you along the way to develop an online course.

Plus, you can re-use this online course every time you create a new online course for your business as a checklist/workbook to ensure you include everything in your course.

Reshuffling my craft space for scrapbooking

When you feel uninspired change up your craft space  So I haven’t been scrapbooking as much because I have a set of drawers with stickers, washi tape and other cool stationery and then I have my tub of scrapbooking paper in my cupboard.  I was thinking about what I could do to bring my scrapbooking closer. Here’s a photo of my tub of scrapbooking paper. Look how undesirable it looks. Inside I have large paper about A4 size and A3. Then I have 12x12 inch paper. Plus an ice cream tub full of scrap paper.  It just made me feel unsatisfied and what makes me excited to work on a hobby is that I can see the resources and get excited to get started. But this set-up was not empowering me. I started brainstorming about maybe making a craft space. I found a table from IKEA with draws on both sides that I could put my scrapbooking paper and accessories in as well as my diamond painting. I also found a desk backing which is like a three level high shelving that attaches to the table....

Crocheting my first blanket and how you can to

Finding a relaxing crochet project for beginners So I decided that crocheting animals etc. is pretty stressful. Not really stressful but not relaxing. A cool end result but I wanted to find something to crochet where I didn’t have to count the stitches or focus on the different type of stitches. So I decided to crochet a simple blanket.  I just wanted to use a small amount of stitches and not count them. I didn’t want to do anything fancy. But I still wanted to crochet. I believe if I could find something to stitch that I could just relax doing it than it was worth it. I started googling a simply blanket planet using single crochet stitch. It’s simple start off with the first row with a chain stitch and then turn it over and do the rest with a single crochet stitch. Brilliant.  Why single crochet blankets don't work without a chain stitch So I started crocheting a baby blanket. It didn’t work out. The sides were uneven and the blanket was all different lengths. So I googled an...
