Is your crocheting work in progress projects getting out of hand?

^Please note, I use affiliate links in this blog post. This means I receive a percentage of the sale from the seller.

So... I don't know about you ... but I have something to confess?

I have so many work in progress crocheting projects, I don't know where to put them all.

It sounds weird ... why not just complete one project at a time?

Different crochet projects

Oh, that sounds easy. But the thing is... I also have projects for different types of travel. Like, I have a yarn in my bag because when I am on the train for an hour, I am crocheting a beanie. A small enough project that I can do on the train (and I still drop the yarn sometimes on the ground).

I have two blankets in progress and that's because when I was a quarter of the way through one, my sister mentioned she would love a blanket. So I stopped crocheting my blanket and now crocheting her a blanket and will restart my crochet blanket once I finish my sister's. But also, I can't take my blankets anywhere. So I have a yarn bag and my blanket for me in the yarn bag. So now spiders or dust can get to it, while it sits there (for what seems like forever).

But also in my yarn bag, I have some more work in progress projects ... like I am creating a Christmas table runner... yes, I know ... it's no where near Christmas. But I started crocheting this Christmas table runner in December and didn't finish it and now I don't know if its bad luck to crochet a Christmas object before Christmas? Anyway, that project and the three coloured yarns for it, are also in the same yarn bag.

Plus, a scarf using thick yarn. Part completed. To be honest now, I don't think I will ever finish this project because I hated using the thick yarn. It does look prettier. It is softer than the acrylic yarn I use for everything else. But I just don't like using the thick yarn.

So my yarn bag can hold quite a lot!

But my crochet work in progress projects do not end there...

I have a shopping bag, filled with my sister's blanket work in progress. I put it in a bag, so it can sit in my lounge room. So it acts as a reminder, that when I am watching TV, I can sit down and crochet this blanket.

Inside the bag, I also have 3/4 nearly finished 2 crochet koala's. I am having trouble crocheting the legs to look the same ... so it's at the bottom of the blanket shopping bag.

I also have 2 half-completed snakes on top of the blanket. One, I feel I am just going to chuck. Because I don't like it and stopped mid-way to try a new one, with a smaller hook so the stuffing wouldn't be peering out of the holes.

So I am thinking, maybe I need a second yarn bag ... and really, the way I am going with this work in progress crochet projects, maybe I need three yarn bags. I know this sounds ridiculous. Like maybe, I should just finish a project and keep focusing on finishing one, so I just have one yarn bag full of work in progress projects.

The most important thing here, is I don't feel overwhelmed by my work in progress crocheting projects. I think if I felt overwhelmed. I would just chuck some to be honest.

Reshuffling my craft space for scrapbooking

When you feel uninspired change up your craft space  So I haven’t been scrapbooking as much because I have a set of drawers with stickers, washi tape and other cool stationery and then I have my tub of scrapbooking paper in my cupboard.  I was thinking about what I could do to bring my scrapbooking closer. Here’s a photo of my tub of scrapbooking paper. Look how undesirable it looks. Inside I have large paper about A4 size and A3. Then I have 12x12 inch paper. Plus an ice cream tub full of scrap paper.  It just made me feel unsatisfied and what makes me excited to work on a hobby is that I can see the resources and get excited to get started. But this set-up was not empowering me. I started brainstorming about maybe making a craft space. I found a table from IKEA with draws on both sides that I could put my scrapbooking paper and accessories in as well as my diamond painting. I also found a desk backing which is like a three level high shelving that attaches to the table....

Crocheting my first blanket and how you can to

Finding a relaxing crochet project for beginners So I decided that crocheting animals etc. is pretty stressful. Not really stressful but not relaxing. A cool end result but I wanted to find something to crochet where I didn’t have to count the stitches or focus on the different type of stitches. So I decided to crochet a simple blanket.  I just wanted to use a small amount of stitches and not count them. I didn’t want to do anything fancy. But I still wanted to crochet. I believe if I could find something to stitch that I could just relax doing it than it was worth it. I started googling a simply blanket planet using single crochet stitch. It’s simple start off with the first row with a chain stitch and then turn it over and do the rest with a single crochet stitch. Brilliant.  Why single crochet blankets don't work without a chain stitch So I started crocheting a baby blanket. It didn’t work out. The sides were uneven and the blanket was all different lengths. So I googled an...
