Non-fiction reading books to be read this year

So, I love self-growth and I love motivation podcasts on YouTube and watching inspirational quote style videos on Instagram.

The movie, The Secret

I also love buying non-fiction books. So I was on YouTube and I thought, hold on... what if I re-watched the movie, The Secret. I hadn't watched that movie for about 20 or so years ago... (Wow, I just googled when it came out, 2006 - literally 20 years ago). I really enjoyed the movie, The Secret back then and thought, why not watch it again.

And then, I thought, ok that was cool... and I was chatting to my Mum about it and she said, you know there is a book about it. Which gives you activities and teaches you how to live the secret. So she gave me the title, "Ask and it is given: by Ester and Jerry Hicks.

The Law of Attraction Book Collection

I bought Ask and it is given eBook from Apple Books. It was so good and powerful, I realised this isn't good enough to be an eBook. I want to be able to read this book, as often as I want to be reminded of the power of the law of attraction.

So I went onto Amazon and looked for the paperback book... which is where I discovered something ... As and it is given, is part of a 7 book collection...Wow. While reading the first book, I felt the topic was so important that I decided to buy all 7. And also, one day hoping, maybe my children will read them as well.  (Please note, the image of the books above. Show only 4 books - 1 is still being delivered, and the top book actually is a collection of 3 books).

So what are these Law of Attraction books about?

Well... take it however you want... but it is basically is what you think about will attract what you want and don't want in your life.

I find this extremely fascinating. Obviously, it gives activities to help you dream bigger and also ways to increase your vibration of what you do want in your life. Because the higher the vibration, the higher chance it will happen in your life.

It has been really fun way to work on my thoughts. Because, in the past, I have been told, your thoughts are just thoughts... but I am learning that I can feel more at peace and happy by thinking positive thoughts. At first, I was doing the visualisation of what I want in life, multiple times a day and I felt exhausted and apparently when you are working on manifesting, you do become tired.

How to see if the law of attraction works

I also kept a diary of what sort of wins I was getting in my day-to-day life, as I am manifesting what I want and it was astounding what was changing in my life. For example, there is this one person in my life where she was completely rude to me and publicly. I barely knew her. So, an activity was, to send her love. So I did. I said, I send love to this person. And the next time I saw her, she waved at me. She joined my conversations and looked at me directly when responding. She was nice! I couldn't believe it.

It does make sense though, the more you think about positive emotions and wants, the less your brain goes into negative. And when it does go to negative, I am more aware it's a negative thought, so I then focus on a positive thought to transition out of it.

So I have quite a few books to read through and I am not sure how long it will take, but I am excited. I also think, what is the harm in trying this out? What if it works? And so far, it does seem to be working.

Reshuffling my craft space for scrapbooking

When you feel uninspired change up your craft space  So I haven’t been scrapbooking as much because I have a set of drawers with stickers, washi tape and other cool stationery and then I have my tub of scrapbooking paper in my cupboard.  I was thinking about what I could do to bring my scrapbooking closer. Here’s a photo of my tub of scrapbooking paper. Look how undesirable it looks. Inside I have large paper about A4 size and A3. Then I have 12x12 inch paper. Plus an ice cream tub full of scrap paper.  It just made me feel unsatisfied and what makes me excited to work on a hobby is that I can see the resources and get excited to get started. But this set-up was not empowering me. I started brainstorming about maybe making a craft space. I found a table from IKEA with draws on both sides that I could put my scrapbooking paper and accessories in as well as my diamond painting. I also found a desk backing which is like a three level high shelving that attaches to the table....

Crocheting my first blanket and how you can to

Finding a relaxing crochet project for beginners So I decided that crocheting animals etc. is pretty stressful. Not really stressful but not relaxing. A cool end result but I wanted to find something to crochet where I didn’t have to count the stitches or focus on the different type of stitches. So I decided to crochet a simple blanket.  I just wanted to use a small amount of stitches and not count them. I didn’t want to do anything fancy. But I still wanted to crochet. I believe if I could find something to stitch that I could just relax doing it than it was worth it. I started googling a simply blanket planet using single crochet stitch. It’s simple start off with the first row with a chain stitch and then turn it over and do the rest with a single crochet stitch. Brilliant.  Why single crochet blankets don't work without a chain stitch So I started crocheting a baby blanket. It didn’t work out. The sides were uneven and the blanket was all different lengths. So I googled an...
