Three miniature DIY kits for $3 each

My friend messaged me and she was like, “Mel, I got you a gift.”

The next day she gave me this amazing gift. Three miniature DIY kits, medium size ready for me to build.

Small miniature DIY kits normally cost around AUD $50 online. But in shops they can drop to AUD $15 when on sale. You wouldn’t believe what my friend paid. Can you take a guess?

She paid as little as $3 a kit and she bought three it’s for me. Two of which are mainly pink, which is my favourite colour and the other kit is a lavender colour.

I looked online and yes they had the price for AUD $29 each. So it pays to go to the actual store for any discounts. What a bargain and probably at least a one month project for each.

Reshuffling my craft space for scrapbooking

When you feel uninspired change up your craft space  So I haven’t been scrapbooking as much because I have a set of drawers with stickers, washi tape and other cool stationery and then I have my tub of scrapbooking paper in my cupboard.  I was thinking about what I could do to bring my scrapbooking closer. Here’s a photo of my tub of scrapbooking paper. Look how undesirable it looks. Inside I have large paper about A4 size and A3. Then I have 12x12 inch paper. Plus an ice cream tub full of scrap paper.  It just made me feel unsatisfied and what makes me excited to work on a hobby is that I can see the resources and get excited to get started. But this set-up was not empowering me. I started brainstorming about maybe making a craft space. I found a table from IKEA with draws on both sides that I could put my scrapbooking paper and accessories in as well as my diamond painting. I also found a desk backing which is like a three level high shelving that attaches to the table....

What supplies do you need for crocheting?

So you have started crocheting. Crocheting is super fun and sometimes tricky and sometimes hard. Also, once you get started and if you are like me, you will have multiple crocheting projects happening at once.  There is a logical reason for this. Because you can have multiple projects at once because you may take different projects with you when catching public transport and have to go somewhere. So a smaller, easier project to pack is ideal and also it gives you something to do while you travel. You may have bigger projects like blankets at home, because they are simply bulkier and heavy to carry. Plus, I prefer to crochet blankets at night, while I’m winding down and watching TV. Mainly because I don’t count stitches for my blankets.  So I tend to do crocheting arigumani in the morning or day time on the weekends, so I have a focussed mind to count those important stitches.  Ok, so that’s why you could have multiple crocheting projects. The other reason is you simply ge...

Should I buy a crocheting kit or just a pattern?

Well, I have written about how cool crocheting kits are previously but do you need a kit or just a pattern? Let’s explore both: A crocheting kit A crocheting kit includes everything you need to make that crocheting project once. It includes the yarn, stuffing, crocheting hook, sewing needle and pattern. A crocheting kit is pretty cool.   As long as you can read a pattern and know the stitches short names to what they actually mean. Such as ch equals chain and sc equals single crochet. If you know the crocheting terms, then you can read a pattern. The good news about the kit, is you literally have all you need to make the pattern once. Sometimes these crocheting kits, have more than one object to make as well. The kit will include all the coloured yarn for each of the projects as well. Because I use a big crochet hook, 5mm and in the kits the hooks are generally 3mm or 3.5 mm, I also know I can’t use the yarn provided. Because using a bigger hook means I need more...
