Scrapbooking exercise books

Welcome!

If you are a beginner scrapbooker or even an advanced one, today I am sharing one of my scrapbooking ideas.

See recently, I found some exercise books and titled each one a different topic so I could brainstorm each topic and let the thoughts out of my mind. You can see why I did this at my blog post here: https://melanietoyeshobbies.blogspot.com/2025/03/sometimes-you-need-to-get-organised.html?m=1.

Now like any exercise books, they are looking rather dull. So I decided to scrap book one of those exercise books. The front cover and the front title page and here are the results:

I didn’t go all out and use stickers or washi tape. I just found it was enough to just using cut out images. With the first image, which is my new front cover, I used a fairy image out of a calendar. And then from my cut offs ice cream container, I literally found other images and just patterned paper to create the rest.

Now what do I mean about my cut offs container?

Well it all fits nicely in an ice cream container inside my paper tub. And when I use part of a scrapbooking paper or cut out a smaller image from a magazine I place it in my cut offs container.

As pictured, you can see a wide range of patterned paper, even small pieces I don’t chuck out, I just place it in the container and it holds a lot. Plus, it’s not hiding in my big tub filled with paper so I literally take out the container and search through it to find the right piece I want in that moment.

Personally, I love it. I do think it’s quite nifty.

I will scrapbook the rest of my exercise books but I thought two pages before dinner was a good start. Also don’t pressure yourself to do more than you feel like. Scrapbooking is like a self expression of art. And if you feel tired from it, take a break. Put all your materials back so you don’t feel more pressure to come back to it in the same day. But trust me you will come back to it. It’s just fun and relaxing and creative.

I would love to hear if you have a cut offs container and what type of container it is and where you put it for easy use. So please comment below what you do.

For my second page, I decided on making pink the theme, which is my favourite coloured theme. But as I kept pasting down more scraps of paper, I realised it didn’t have to be all pink and yet it still feels matchy matchy, which I like.

Seeing this book makes me want to use it for ideas because it’s inspiring and fun itself and it’s no longer this boring exercise books. It is something unique that I made. Which is all you need to do, just do something you enjoy. Don’t put pressure on yourself in the hope that other people may like it. This is for you so make it for you.

How I use my home for craft

So my home is decorated by my craft.  For example, I have a craft room where I store my craft supplies and have space to do my craft and then I have in my lounge room showing my craft creations (pictured above) and also storing craft supplies like yarn, where I love to look at and think about the possibilities of what I can do with my craft supplies.  It makes me feel good to come home and be surrounded by my craft.  And it’s ok to never have your craft room finished. For me it’s a work in progress. I am always changing it and my supplies and where to showcase my supplies. This is because my interests change. One month I may be heavily into crocheting so I don’t need a table for that, I can just sit on the couch. I really just need storage for my yarn and crochet needles and my half completed crochet projects such as draws to cater for these.  Another month, I may be into scrapbooking so I do need a table for this, my set of draws for the stickers and tapes and then ...

Crocheting my first blanket and how you can to

Finding a relaxing crochet project for beginners So I decided that crocheting animals etc. is pretty stressful. Not really stressful but not relaxing. A cool end result but I wanted to find something to crochet where I didn’t have to count the stitches or focus on the different type of stitches. So I decided to crochet a simple blanket.  I just wanted to use a small amount of stitches and not count them. I didn’t want to do anything fancy. But I still wanted to crochet. I believe if I could find something to stitch that I could just relax doing it than it was worth it. I started googling a simply blanket planet using single crochet stitch. It’s simple start off with the first row with a chain stitch and then turn it over and do the rest with a single crochet stitch. Brilliant.  Why single crochet blankets don't work without a chain stitch So I started crocheting a baby blanket. It didn’t work out. The sides were uneven and the blanket was all different lengths. So I googled an...
