The good news is diamond painting comes in a kit.
So you have the basics in the kit. Now if you do one full picture of diamond painting and enjoy the hobby, here are some other ideas to support you when diamond painting:
Buy a lamp for diamond painting
It can be hard to see the numbers on the picture so having a lamp over the diamond painting helps. Any sort of extra lighting.
Buy a ruler for diamond painting
Now there are two types of shaped drills your diamond kit can have: circles or squares. If you like to diamond paint with circles, you can buy a special diamond painting metal circle holed ruler. So when doing lots of the same colour in one section, you can place the ruler on the diamond painting and add the drills into the holes of the ruler. Lift up the ruler and you have the same distanced apart drills.
Buy a flat elevated piece of wooden easel
If you buy a flat elevated piece of wood easel, your back shouldn’t hurt as much because you won’t be slouching over your diamond painting compared to diamond painting on a flat table or desk. A sore back and neck is one of the biggest complaints across diamond painters.
Buy frames for your finished diamond paintings
You don’t have to spend a fortune. You can find brand new photo frames at second hand stores. But it is cool to see your diamond paintings finished and placed in your home for all to see. And most importantly, for you to see. It also depends how big your diamond paintings are. For example, I once did an 60 x 80 sized diamond painting and I would have a hard time finding a photo frame for that. But you can find other alternatives for much larger sized diamond paintings.
Have storage for your diamond paintings
I don’t have too many about ten diamond paintings to be done and I have finished about 5-10 diamond paintings. So you need to find a space for them. I have the finished ones in a tub and the ones to start on my shelf to remind me of my cool hobby. So work out how many you want to buy to start with. Trust me when I say, I have seen some outstanding diamond painting stashes that some buyers definitely need to consider their storage needs before purchasing. It is fun buying them, when there are so many cool and different pictures to choose from.
Buy a drill container compartment for diamond painting
