Scrapbooking a mermaid theme

Please note, I use affiliate links at the bottom of this post. I am affiliated with AliExpress.com. I receive a percentage of the sale price if you make a purchase.

What I will show you today is the process I use for scrapbooking with a twist. Instead of scrapbooking into an album, I am going to scrapbook into my A4 notepad. This gives me a bit more freedom in space to create what I want. Honestly, the bigger the space the more creative I can be. I can use bigger scrapbooking pictures as well.

Today, I decided to do a mermaid theme. Mainly because I thought I had heaps of mermaid supplies in all categories, scrapbooking paper, stickers and washi tape. The frustrating  part was when I got to the part of decorating with stickers, I only had Aerial the mermaid Disney stickers. As much as I love Aerial, I didn’t want her to upset my balanced mermaid scrapbooking paper.

So unfortunately I didn’t have heaps of mermaid stickers but I did find under the water materials, so I used that instead.

So before you start a scrapbooking theme, check or even take out all the scrapbooking supplies you want to use. So you can feel confident that you can complete the project.

And you wouldn’t believe it, as I was tidying up I found even more under the sea pictures which I could have cut up and used for the scrapbooking art page. But that’s ok. The end result is meant to be.

So let’s begin.

Start with a blank page, no matter how big or small. And if you have lined paper and not blank, don’t worry you can still use it. Because it will get covered anyway.

Now, choose your scrapbook paper or coloured card board and glue to your page. Or if you prefer, use washi tape to hold the papers down on the page.

I have a 12 pack of mermaid washi tape. So I added a few different types. On the sides, I couldn’t remember which way the mermaid tail washi tape goes, so one each side of the mermaid I have it two different ways. I think the right side is the correct way.

Then I added my paper cut outs and stickers.

This is the end result. It’s fairly simple but keeps to the mermaid theme. I like using the word stickers as well. But you have to know when I bought these packs, they don’t always have inspirational or motivational quotes, some are a bit not nice. So I just look for the nice quotes, because I like my quotes to say something nice and meaningful.

Here are some affiliate links to AliExpress.com of what I purchased to create this scrapbooking theme. Please note, if you purchase from the below links, I receive a portion of the sale from the seller.

Reshuffling my craft space for scrapbooking

When you feel uninspired change up your craft space  So I haven’t been scrapbooking as much because I have a set of drawers with stickers, washi tape and other cool stationery and then I have my tub of scrapbooking paper in my cupboard.  I was thinking about what I could do to bring my scrapbooking closer. Here’s a photo of my tub of scrapbooking paper. Look how undesirable it looks. Inside I have large paper about A4 size and A3. Then I have 12x12 inch paper. Plus an ice cream tub full of scrap paper.  It just made me feel unsatisfied and what makes me excited to work on a hobby is that I can see the resources and get excited to get started. But this set-up was not empowering me. I started brainstorming about maybe making a craft space. I found a table from IKEA with draws on both sides that I could put my scrapbooking paper and accessories in as well as my diamond painting. I also found a desk backing which is like a three level high shelving that attaches to the table....

Crocheting my first blanket and how you can to

Finding a relaxing crochet project for beginners So I decided that crocheting animals etc. is pretty stressful. Not really stressful but not relaxing. A cool end result but I wanted to find something to crochet where I didn’t have to count the stitches or focus on the different type of stitches. So I decided to crochet a simple blanket.  I just wanted to use a small amount of stitches and not count them. I didn’t want to do anything fancy. But I still wanted to crochet. I believe if I could find something to stitch that I could just relax doing it than it was worth it. I started googling a simply blanket planet using single crochet stitch. It’s simple start off with the first row with a chain stitch and then turn it over and do the rest with a single crochet stitch. Brilliant.  Why single crochet blankets don't work without a chain stitch So I started crocheting a baby blanket. It didn’t work out. The sides were uneven and the blanket was all different lengths. So I googled an...
