It’s really important that if you decide to start crocheting to find some guidance and motivation to keep going when it gets hard.
And that’s exactly why I wrote my ebook, ‘The journey of crocheting for beginners’.
Crocheting is very hard at the beginning and also hard when moving to different levels of crocheting. So you need someone by your side to keep going and give some tips and advice on the basics.
I even include tips that I uncovered like six months after I started crocheting that makes crocheting much easier.
I do have a love of crocheting and when I first started I nearly gave up so many times because it was so hard. Of course when I started I learnt to crochet a turtle and my friend said, “Wow Mel, way to choose one of the hardest things to crochet.”
And then I crocheted different animals like a panda and a kangaroo. I found it really stressful and hard. Not to mention just counting stitches and learning different stitches also hard. As well as just getting used to the tension of the yarn in my fingers. Oh and don’t ask about the sewing! Yes, you may have to hand sew when crocheting an object.
I would spend the weekend crocheting an animal and finish it but I found it really tense. So I stopped for a bit. And then I thought why not find something to crochet that was easier just using two stitches?
And that’s how I started to crochet scarves and blankets. I didn’t count stitches. I could just watch TV and do something relaxing with my hands.
But then I started to think, maybe I could try crocheting animals again and other objects? So I did. It was much easier this time. Because this time, I knew what to expect. I did have to relearn some stitches but it was easier to relearn than learn from scratch.
And crocheting is probably my most favourite hobby and most time spent on it during the week. I love finding a pattern that I want to crochet and then crochet it! And then have this cool result as it is.
It may not even look like the picture but it’s what I made and that is pretty awesome. Every time I crochet something I am getting better and the item I crochet looks better and my friends love to see what I have made and even make requests. I have sold some, which is also pretty cool.
And even though, I think what I’ve made isn’t that great, people love seeing it. So it must be somewhat decent.
Sure, I am aware I’m a perfectionist but I just enjoy it now! The point is to go at a pace that you can enjoy and don’t push yourself too hard to make intermediate level objects while you are beginning.
So buy my eBook and get confident that you can start this crocheting journey and enjoy something wonderful.
