3 easy bookmark projects to give to book lovers

Image by Daria Głodowska from Pixabay

Crocheting can be hard, long and tedious but also incredibly rewarding once you complete a project, especially for the first time. Better yet, when you make two and they look the same!

Today, we are going to look at 3 easy bookmark projects to make for book lovers.

1. Crochet a bookmark for a gift

I am a reader, but I do this thing, where I read part of a book, then I open a completely different book and read part of it and then I keep reading more books. It's not because I am bored of the book or topic, it is just I am digesting what it saying for that theme. I mainly read non-fiction books, because I am always wanting to grow.

So crocheting several book marks can really be ideal for the book lover. You can use different colours. So here is my crocheting pattern you can have to create your book reader friends a book mark, or several book marks!

It is very easy to make and as said above, you can make them using different colours! They do have a small curl, which is fine. I have tested these out and they don't ruin the book or make it hard to close the book.

I used Acrylic yarn, 3 ply and 5mm hook for this and used very little yarn.

2. Scrapbook a bookmark for a gift

You can literally scrapbook anything! This includes bookmarks. As mentioned above, I love having multiple bookmarks and I do have the crochet bookmarks I have made, but I also have these cool scrapbooking bookmarks and they never get dusty! Most likely because they are always in a book.

I help you step by step with my blog post on scrapbooking bookmarks. It's really simple. Just get some coloured cardboard, add some decorations and you have created some scrapbook bookmarks. You can even hole punch them at the top and tie a ribbon, but it's not necessary if you don't have the tools.

Your book reading friend will love this and you can make more than one! Make them all different themes or better yet, find out what type of books your bookreader friend likes and design them to the genre.

3. Diamond Paint a bookmark for a gift

Diamond Painting is sparkly! Who wouldn't love a bit of sparkle to a bookmark.

Simply, get some coloured card paper add some glue and then stick on your diamonds! You could create a stencil and design the diamond painting with the image on mind, or just make an abstract image.

You can look up how to make stencils with my blog post on it here. Your book reader friend will appreciate some sparkle to add to their book.

So what did you think of these 3 easy bookmark projects?

A great gift for your book reading friends but also a great gift for you and your family who also like books. If you have children, they may even join in on the fun of creating their own bookmarks!

Just get out the supplies and let them cut and glue away!

Reshuffling my craft space for scrapbooking

When you feel uninspired change up your craft space  So I haven’t been scrapbooking as much because I have a set of drawers with stickers, washi tape and other cool stationery and then I have my tub of scrapbooking paper in my cupboard.  I was thinking about what I could do to bring my scrapbooking closer. Here’s a photo of my tub of scrapbooking paper. Look how undesirable it looks. Inside I have large paper about A4 size and A3. Then I have 12x12 inch paper. Plus an ice cream tub full of scrap paper.  It just made me feel unsatisfied and what makes me excited to work on a hobby is that I can see the resources and get excited to get started. But this set-up was not empowering me. I started brainstorming about maybe making a craft space. I found a table from IKEA with draws on both sides that I could put my scrapbooking paper and accessories in as well as my diamond painting. I also found a desk backing which is like a three level high shelving that attaches to the table....

Crocheting my first blanket and how you can to

Finding a relaxing crochet project for beginners So I decided that crocheting animals etc. is pretty stressful. Not really stressful but not relaxing. A cool end result but I wanted to find something to crochet where I didn’t have to count the stitches or focus on the different type of stitches. So I decided to crochet a simple blanket.  I just wanted to use a small amount of stitches and not count them. I didn’t want to do anything fancy. But I still wanted to crochet. I believe if I could find something to stitch that I could just relax doing it than it was worth it. I started googling a simply blanket planet using single crochet stitch. It’s simple start off with the first row with a chain stitch and then turn it over and do the rest with a single crochet stitch. Brilliant.  Why single crochet blankets don't work without a chain stitch So I started crocheting a baby blanket. It didn’t work out. The sides were uneven and the blanket was all different lengths. So I googled an...
