An animal themed scrapbook page

Scrapbooking is fun and creative and it’s easy to get caught up in making it too complicated and then you don’t know if you are happy with the result. I find picking a theme for the scrapbook page is easiest for me. Then I can sync everything together.

I like to showcase scrapbooking to you with a scrapbook page and you can add photos to the scrapbook page as well!

So let me walk you through how I created this animal themed scrapbook page.

I normally choose the scrapbooking paper to start the theme process but this time I decided to choose the type of stickers I wanted and then found the scrapbooking paper to match.

I chose an animal themed scrapbook. For stickers, I had dogs, pandas and clouds and later I added some flowers and a quote sticker.

I then chose the scrapbooking paper, I went for outdoor living vibe, such as flowers and wood. I just felt it would go well with the animal sticker.

I started by cutting the pieces of scrapbook paper down and then adding the paper to the page with a glue stick.

Once I was happy with this, I added the stickers to the top. I don’t normally plan where the stickers will go so I started with the cute panda stickers and felt three of them were enough. I then added the dog stickers. Too cute! I thought some cloud stickers would be fun to add. At the top right I added a rainbow cloud but wished I put it over the top panda. But that’s ok, if you think of a better position later. Just let it be.

A scrapbooking tip: You don’t want to try to take the sticker off because otherwise it will rip off the paper. If you really hate it, you can simply put something over it, where it’s a picture to glue on or a different sticker.

I kept the sticker there but made sure I added some clouds above some of the animals for the rest. I then added flowers because I felt the flowers around animals is their normal environment. And I thought maybe I should add a sweet quote to the page, so I found one.

The funny thing about the quote stickers, is they all aren’t nice quotes. I find this quite funny but also a little annoying because I have to swift through the quote stickers to find a motivational or a simply nice one.

Then I thought, maybe it’s missing something? And so I added some washi tape as well, of course animal washi tape (yes unicorns are an animal!) and flower washi tape to the sides. I feel like washi tape completes the look. It just frames the scrapbook page well.

You can use washi tape to create a frame around your photos if you so desire.

The end result is pretty cool. (Pic up the top of the blog). It does feel a bit random but also together and I really feel like, it was fun to make which is all that matters.

If you are just starting out in scrapbooking or simply looking for new ideas, I suggest creating a theme first to help you. This is also a good idea to think of themes when you go shopping for supplies. It’s a good idea to find theme scrapbooking paper, themed stickers and if possible, although sometimes harder find themed washi tape. There are other scrapbooking supplies you can get and you could also theme this as well.

And you don’t have to use a theme, I just find it easier to start when there is a blank page facing me, with a heap of scrapbooking paper and supplies to choose from.

To help you create a similar scrapbooking page, I have included links to find either the same or similar scrapbooking supplies. The majority of my scrapbooking supplies come from AliExpress.com. I am an affiliate of AliExpress.com, which means any links you click on and then purchase, I receive a commission from the seller.

Reshuffling my craft space for scrapbooking

When you feel uninspired change up your craft space  So I haven’t been scrapbooking as much because I have a set of drawers with stickers, washi tape and other cool stationery and then I have my tub of scrapbooking paper in my cupboard.  I was thinking about what I could do to bring my scrapbooking closer. Here’s a photo of my tub of scrapbooking paper. Look how undesirable it looks. Inside I have large paper about A4 size and A3. Then I have 12x12 inch paper. Plus an ice cream tub full of scrap paper.  It just made me feel unsatisfied and what makes me excited to work on a hobby is that I can see the resources and get excited to get started. But this set-up was not empowering me. I started brainstorming about maybe making a craft space. I found a table from IKEA with draws on both sides that I could put my scrapbooking paper and accessories in as well as my diamond painting. I also found a desk backing which is like a three level high shelving that attaches to the table....

Crocheting my first blanket and how you can to

Finding a relaxing crochet project for beginners So I decided that crocheting animals etc. is pretty stressful. Not really stressful but not relaxing. A cool end result but I wanted to find something to crochet where I didn’t have to count the stitches or focus on the different type of stitches. So I decided to crochet a simple blanket.  I just wanted to use a small amount of stitches and not count them. I didn’t want to do anything fancy. But I still wanted to crochet. I believe if I could find something to stitch that I could just relax doing it than it was worth it. I started googling a simply blanket planet using single crochet stitch. It’s simple start off with the first row with a chain stitch and then turn it over and do the rest with a single crochet stitch. Brilliant.  Why single crochet blankets don't work without a chain stitch So I started crocheting a baby blanket. It didn’t work out. The sides were uneven and the blanket was all different lengths. So I googled an...
